A key objective for Maven’s team is to provide high quality investment 'aftercare' to each business. Post investment, Maven executives will help the management team define and evolve its strategic plan, appointing new senior executives where appropriate and normally taking a seat on the board.
We believe this is what helps forge a strong working relationship between Maven and the people we back, allowing Maven to provide continual support in helping the business to grow and achieve the optimum exit value for all investors.
We also recognise that it’s a shared journey and that results are optimised where there is close alignment of interests and a common vision, with both parties motivated to drive the business forward to maximise value. Choosing to make an investment is an indication of our belief in what a business has achieved thus far and our commitment to its continued growth and success.
We look to invest only in entrepreneurial businesses, providing growth capital to earlier stage businesses, or supporting an MBO, acquisition, development capital, replacement capital/equity release or a buy-and build strategy for more mature businesses. Maven can typically provide funding from £1m up to £20m.
We don’t expect every company to be the finished article from the outset. Instead we look for a business with identifiable market potential and which is led by an excellent management team.
