For most executive teams, a management buyout (MBO) is unchartered territory, and undertaking such a process may initially seem daunting. Maven understands this and has worked with over 50 management teams to help them gain ownership of the business they manage.
What we look for
We back talented and committed management teams who share the same ambition to grow shareholder value as we do.
We support management teams with relevant sector experience who can demonstrate a clear vision and strategy for generating further growth.
Stage of growth
We support MBOs of businesses with a minimum EBITDA of £1 million and can invest between £2 million and £20 million in a single transaction. We can also finance buy and build opportunities and equity release transactions, where a founder or team realise some of their equity value but continue to manage and grow the business.
We prefer to invest in UK domiciled private companies, often with overseas or global operations.
We fund MBOs across all sectors, with the quality of the people and the market opportunity at the forefront of our investment appraisal.
We don't always expect businesses to be the finished article. Instead, we try to help add value to companies which have a clear, credible strategy, capable of delivering growth in profit and earnings.
How we finance your MBO
Maven is actively investing capital from its institutional buyout fund as well as from a comprehensive network of family offices and high net worth individuals, who invest through our established Maven Investor Partner network.
Private equity can fund a change in ownership, a buy and build project or a wider M&A strategy. It can also provide equity release to founders who wish to de-risk and realise part of their personal wealth.
