Indus Foods offers a range of services across the food service, Manufacturing, Retail and Wholesale sectors, specialising in ethnic foods and exporting. The Company is a wholesaler of Asian Foods which include spices, tinned ingredients, oils and flours, fast food packaging, and housewares. The company serves around 5,000 retail and food service customers in total, with several of their customers ranked in the top positions on the Just Eat online ordering platform.
The business was founded in 1962, by the parents of main directors and shareholders. Having seen the gap in the market for ethnic foods, the first halal butchers and greengrocers was opened on Ladypool Road, Sparkbrook, this being inside the famous “Balti Triangle”.
Following growing demand for spicy foods and associated ingredients, the wholesale business Indus Foods was formed in 1972. This business now serves a far-reaching distribution hub not limited to the Midlands.
We are delighted to receive this funding boost to enable us to execute our growth plans. We are looking forward to modernising our warehouse and creating a manufacturing and production hub where whole spices will be prepared under our own brand label.
