The Role & Responsibilities
- Proactive portfolio management of the private company investment portfolio, ranging from high potential recent business start-ups through to more established SME's requiring a more strategic approach.
- Hands-on support requiring direct input and guidance to portfolio company management teams. Support may include strategic advice, bolt-on acquisitions, new business initiatives, cost base re-structuring and implementing exit strategies.
- Providing robust and insightful monthly/quarterly updates and reports for the individual and consolidated investee company performance within the portfolio.
What you need to succeed
- No less than 15 years of relevant work experience; previous experience as Finance Director is relatable to this role.
- Experience of working at board level in an SME environment.
- A track record of working as a senior business partner within a high growth entrepreneurial environment focused on the creation of shareholder value (e.g. turnaround, restructure, M&A, finance).
- Strong communication and influencing skills and experience of managing multiple stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and ability to work to deadlines with minimum of supervision.
- Finance, Banking or Investment qualification is desirable.
- Previous experience of managing a portfolio of SME investments is desirable.
