Key Sector Experience

Hotels, PBSA.

Ramsay joined Maven in 2011, based in the Glasgow office, to establish the Maven Property business. Initially this was based on his experience in hotel development funding/structures which subsequently developed into purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and beyond. Hotels and PBSA remain the largest parts of the Maven Property business. Ramsay’s principal focus now is on identifying, assessing and securing new property investment opportunities and new sources of capital.

Prior to joining Maven, Ramsay established a corporate finance/property funding boutique, HM Corporate Solutions, along with commercial law firm Harper MacLeod. Before that he worked in a number of roles in corporate finance and industry after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) with Ernst & Young.

Ramsay has a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Glasgow and is a Scottish CA.

Outside of work Ramsay enjoys outdoor pursuits such as running, walking, golf and skiing and plays bass guitar in a charity, rock covers band.

I enjoy seeing new property development and investment opportunities in sectors we are involved in such as hotels and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and relish the challenge of identifying deals that will provide attractive returns for Maven investors, whilst meeting the objectives of our development partners. It is rewarding to see the continuing development of the Maven Property business.
