In October 2018 Maven exited from its investment in Cursor Controls, a global market leader in the design and manufacture of trackball pointing solutions for industrial applications. The business has a history spanning numerous decades and offers the most comprehensive range of trackballs internationally. With over 1,200 variants in its product portfolio, and over 90% of sales going for export, Cursor provides trackball solutions for a wide range of applications including use within the medical, marine, military and media sectors.
Supported by a strong range of innovative, patented technologies and constructions, the Cursor Controls Engineering and R&D teams give significant focus to continual product development, adding features and enhancements to existing products in parallel with launching new, leading edge solutions for the ever evolving market requirements. The exit from Cursor generated a 2.7x money multiple return for investors.
The sale of Cursor is an excellent return for both our VCT shareholders and our Investor Partner network which co-invested to fund the original MBO. Since then, Neale and his senior management team have continued to build upon the company’s global reputation in the market for technical expertise and innovation and Cursor is widely regarded as a leader in its field.
