In July 2026 Maven completed an exit from Secaro to a Japanese trade buyer, delivering a profitable return for the Maven VCTs and Maven Investor Partners.
Secaro is a technology company that works with some of the world’s largest manufacturing businesses to help achieve environmental footprint reduction within global supply chains. Secaro’s highly scalable software platform helps companies of all sizes measure, manage and reduce environmental impact in line with the latest climate science. Its reporting tools capture data from across supply chains, enabling clients to encourage suppliers to create strategies to systematically reduce carbon emissions. Secaro’s technology and processes enhance clients’ operational efficiency, cut their environmental impact and enable them to procure more sustainably, driving down costs. Users of its platform include Asda, Coop, Reckitt, SC Johnson, Toyota and Honda.
The funding from the Maven VCTs and Maven Investor Partners helped Secaro to capitalise on opportunities in key markets, including the pharmaceutical, chemical, retail, automotive and fast moving consumer goods sectors, whilst expanding into carefully selected new vertical markets such as aerospace and defence, construction materials, electronics and consumer durables. The investment was also used for continued product development and adding new functionality to the software platform.
Secaro was acquired during a period of strong market momentum, when ESG considerations were an increasingly important driver of corporate decision making. However, the operating environment has shifted dramatically in recent years as political developments, particularly in the US, have altered priorities for many businesses. Despite these headwinds, we successfully realised our investment and delivered a positive outcome for investors.
