Maven strengthens Scottish team with two senior appointments

We are delighted to announce two new appointments to its Scottish team, further strengthening its investment capability as it continues to support the growth and scale-up ambitions of companies across Scotland.

Nicola Holloway joins Maven as Portfolio Director and will be based in Glasgow, working closely with Maven’s Scottish portfolio companies and supporting new investment activity across the region. Nicola joins from The Weir Group, where she served as Corporate Development Manager since 2023, supporting the Group’s M&A strategy and execution. Prior to this, she spent 12 years at Grant Thornton, building extensive experience advising owner-managed and private equity backed businesses on corporate finance transactions. 

Andrew Leslie also joins Maven as Portfolio Director in Glasgow, with responsibility for the portfolio companies and supporting them on their growth journey alongside the investment team. He joins from Scottish investment firm N4 Partners, where he was Investment Director since its inception in 2020. Andrew previously worked at PwC and Leslie Corporate Finance and is a Chartered Accountant with significant experience advising entrepreneurs, management teams and investors.

The two appointments further enhance Maven’s highly experienced Scottish investment team, which has a strong and proven track record of backing ambitious, high growth businesses across the region. Having supported a substantial and growing number of ambitious businesses throughout Scotland, the expanded team will continue to work closely with management teams, providing hands-on support, strategic guidance and access to Maven’s wider national network.

Maven’s Scottish Investment team actively invests across the country, supporting growth focused companies with the potential to scale, create jobs and deliver long-term value. The team deploys capital through a range of Maven managed funds, including IFS Maven Equity Finance - one of a series of Nations and Regions Investment Funds launched by the British Business Bank - helping to increase the availability and diversity of growth capital for Scottish companies and backing those that may not otherwise access investment.
