Maven has expanded its regional presence with the opening of a new office at Platform in central Leeds, marking a significant milestone in the firm's continued commitment to supporting ambitious businesses across Yorkshire.

The expansion follows a sustained period of investment activity across the region, with Maven backing a number of Yorkshire-based businesses and working closely with management teams to accelerate growth and deliver long-term value. The establishment of a permanent presence in Leeds reflects both the strength of the regional opportunity pipeline and Maven's ambition to play an increasingly active role in the Yorkshire.

In the last 12 months, Maven has completed investments in Leeds-based cyber security specialist Xentra, which secured £2.7 million to accelerate its growth plans, and digital assurance software provider eviFile, which received £1.6 million to support product development and expansion. Maven also maintains a strong presence across the region through investments including Hull-based Pagabo Group, where it realised a partial exit in 2024 following a successful three year investment period.

Greg Allsopp has joined Maven as Investment Director and will be based in Leeds. Greg will lead deal origination and execution activity across Yorkshire, while working in partnership with portfolio company management teams. He joins from Venturian Funding & Investment Group, where he spent over 10 years leading a broad range of early stage and growth equity investments and SME lending opportunities across multiple sectors. Prior to this, Greg began his career with global law firm DLA Piper, advising on private equity and M&A transactions.

“I am delighted to be joining Maven and leading its investment activities from our new Leeds office. Yorkshire has a thriving business community, with a strong pipeline of innovative companies seeking investment to accelerate their ambitions. Maven has been actively investing across the region for some time, and establishing a permanent presence in Leeds is a natural next step as we continue to expand our network and support more high growth businesses. I look forward to working with entrepreneurs, management teams and advisers across the county to help businesses realise their long term potential.”

Greg Allsopp, Investment Director at Maven

“Yorkshire continues to be one of the most attractive investment markets in the UK, with a number of innovative and fast-growing businesses operating across a diverse range of sectors. The establishment of a Leeds office reflects the momentum we are seeing in the region and our ambition to further increase our support for Yorkshire's entrepreneurial community. Greg's appointment is an important part of that strategy. His extensive investment experience, combined with his local market knowledge and network, will be invaluable as we continue to grow our presence and back more great businesses across the region.”
