Richard Elliott

Richard joined Maven in 2011 and as a member of the Scottish investment team helped deliver the Scottish Loan Fund investment mandate. He also transacted a number of private equity investments and had portfolio management responsibility for several investee companies which included board seats. He transferred to the Property team in 2016 where he is responsible for originating, transacting and managing new property investments and developments across the UK.

Prior to joining Maven he spent seven years at HBOS (subsequently Lloyds Banking Group) and having progressed through the Group Internal Audit Graduate Scheme spent time in Corporate Relationship Banking before moving to the Joint Ventures team where he spent three years managing the bank’s equity exposure across a portfolio of UK real estate companies. Before moving into banking, Richard spent four years as a police officer with Strathclyde Police.

Richard is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Strathclyde. 

Outside of work Richard is a keen golfer and having given up his 5-a-side football career owing to ‘dodgy knees’ has now taken up cycling. His other main pursuit is running a youth football team which competes in the Dunbartonshire Youth Football League. He is married with three children.
