Michael joined Maven in 2017 and is based in our Durham office. His responsibilities include deal origination and execution across the North East of England.
Prior to joining Maven, Michael worked at Rivers Capital for six years and was based in their Newcastle office. At Rivers he was involved in completing venture transactions, including equity, debt and mezzanine finance to SMEs across multiple sectors. Michael has also had secondments with an angel crowd-sourcing platform, analysing funding applications, and at Finance Tree where he acted as an introducer to a specialist equity loan provider in addition to aiding three companies attract investment from syndicates of international private investors.
He holds the Investment Management Certificate, a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Nottingham and a Masters in Chemistry from the University of Leicester.
Outside of work Michael enjoys time with his family, walking the dog, cooking and rugby.
