Concept Smoke Screen will use the funding to launch a new product, expand its customer reach overseas and create five new jobs in Lincolnshire.
The Midlands Engine Investment Fund (“MEIF”) Debt Finance, managed by Maven, has provided Concept Smoke Screen Limited (CSS) with a £250,000 loan. Based in Swineshead near Boston, the company which is a manufacturer of innovative security products will use the loan to create five new jobs, supporting plans to expand globally. The funding will also allow CSS to launch a new product in the UK.
CSS originally produced a range of pyrotechnic smoke generators aimed at protecting cash and valuables in transit but later developed a black-box system, incorporating a fog generator, to be integrated into commercial building alarm systems. Instead of producing harmful smoke, the generator vaporises a harmless chemical mixed with distilled water to produce a clean, safe, non-toxic breathable thermal fog. The fog is released instantly and creates a dense ‘smoke-screen’ which can quickly fill a confined space and disorientate an intruder, enabling them to be apprehended.
Committed to R&D, CSS started supplying its innovative fogging systems globally in 2013 to meet growing demand in Latin American ATM lobbies which are the focus of regular crime activity. The business successfully exports its award-winning technology globally, including to parts of Europe, Africa and Russia.
