The Greater Manchester Loan Fund (GMLF), managed by Maven, has made a £150,000 investment in the insurance brokerage J&A Brokers Ltd (J&A). The investment will be utilised by J&A to hire additional staff in business development roles to supplement the existing team and provide working capital to help take the business through its next growth phase.
Established in 2009, the business is led by John Green and Alan Jones, both of whom have considerable experience in the broker industry. In a relatively short time they have built up a strong client base with high retention rates based on the added value its full service delivers to its customers and the businesses ability to deal with a range of complex insurance requirements.
J&A specialises in providing bespoke commercial insurance solutions to businesses throughout the Greater Manchester and North West regions. Its professional brokering service offers a range of business critical products to its clients including Employee Liability, Business Interruption and Professional Indemnity insurance. J&A utilise their knowledge and considerable experience in the industry to deliver a high quality service and tailored solutions for a wide range of sectors, with their success built on their excellent reputation and strong repeat custom.
The company also benefits from being a member of the Willis Commercial Network. As the 4th largest broker in the world, its platform provides J&A with access to specialist schemes and products not normally available to smaller firms.
The industry in which J&A operates in is highly competitive with no single player dominating the market, so today’s funding from the GMLF will provide the business with additional capacity and a solid platform from which it can attract and facilitate new business.
