 To mark International Women’s Day 2026, our Invested Podcast is launching Season 2 of Scaling for Success, a special mini-series dedicated for women led businesses across the UK. 

From grassroots initiatives to national investment networks, we are spotlighting those who are opening doors for the next generation of women-led businesses.

In episode three we are joined by Carolyn Currie MBE, Chief Executive of Women’s Enterprise Scotland and leading voice in Scotland’s entrepreneurial community, campaigning for women-led businesses, advocating for equitable access to finance, and guiding strategic policy-aligned approaches to women’s enterprise. 

Carolyn reflects on her early career in the banking sector, where she helped design some of the UK’s first initiatives to support women in business. Listening to the experiences of female founders shaped her approach, from identifying funding barriers to developing policy frameworks that better reflect the needs of diverse entrepreneurs.

Her work has since spanned contributions to policy papers for the G20 and central banks, alongside being a founding member of the UK Women’s Enterprise Policy Group. In 2026, she received an MBE in His Majesty The King’s New Year Honours List for her services to women’s entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, and gender equality.

Carolyn also shares examples of women across Scotland who are building successful companies, often quietly, creatively, and against significant odds, and why more targeted support could unlock even greater economic potential.
