Joe joined Maven in October 2022 and is based in our Manchester office. His responsibilities include deal execution, portfolio management including value creation, follow on investments and exit events across Northwest England.
Over the last three years at Maven Joe has developed his private equity knowledge and experience through directly managing early-stage investments, being a key member of board calls with portfolio companies, presenting follow on opportunities to investment committee and delivering return on investment through an exit process. Prior to joining Maven, Joe began his career at KPMG London, where he worked for four years. In that time, he was training as a charted accountant while working in financial services audit, primarily the audit of Bank of New York Mellon, the world’s largest custodian bank.
Is a part qualified chartered accountant and has an BSc Honours Degree in Mathematics with Finance from the University of Exeter.
Outside of work Joe enjoys racket sports, socialising and has a keen passion for travelling the world.
Working in private equity to support early-stage companies with their growth plans is extremely rewarding. Not only does it allow me to support in creating jobs, wealth and value-creation in the Northwest, an area I've grown up in, but the diversity of sector and stage of business creates an ever-changing and interesting place to work. On top of this, sitting on several boards with impressive and ambitious management teams produces an enriching and dynamic experience.
