Atterley.com is an online fashion marketplace that provides a sales channel solution for boutiques and independent brands to sell to a global customer base. Atterley is already used by hundreds of independent boutiques to reach customers worldwide and has around 3,000 brands live on the site. The business is led by serial entrepreneur Mike Welch, who sold discount tyre website Blackcircles.com to Michelin for £50 million in 2015.
Atterley has developed a different operating model to many of the other online fashion retailers avoiding the need to carry stock and operate warehouses which can be susceptible to downturns in consumer spending. Instead, the business leverages the stock that is on the shelves of its network of independent boutiques, enabling it to provide a full inventory of clothing, but without the overhead cost.
