Launched in June 2009, Maven Capital Partners is a UK lower mid-market private equity firm, focused on:
– Managing Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs).
– Identifying and enabling private company investment opportunities for
co-investors such as family offices, HNW individuals and corporate investors.
Maven Capital Partners is a full member of the British Venture Capital Association.
History and Evolution
Maven was formed following a management buyout of Aberdeen Asset Management's Private Equity division. The entire investment team migrated across to Maven, along with the transfer of the fund accounting, company secretariat, client reporting and sales & marketing functions.
Track Record
Between 2004 and 2009 our team built a top-performing private equity and VCT business within global investment house Aberdeen Asset Management, and Maven now has one of the most experienced private equity teams in the UK, with over 100 years' combined experience of investing in private companies. During this time, we more than doubled funds under management, including the acquisition of three VCT management contracts from other fund managers.
Approach
Our strategy has always been to focus on investing in dynamic private companies, maximising shareholder returns through successful exits and regular dividends, and Maven continues this approach as an independent and specialist private equity business. Our team can leverage the strength and experience built up over many years to source, analyse and execute the best deals for our clients, and benefits from a UK-wide network of corporate finance advisors that introduces us to around 900 potential deals a year.
